Have you ever felt overwhelmed? Or what about making it through the battle or the issue to only be drained? I think we all have at one time or another.
Can you imagine Jesus sending you out to do what He had been doing? On one hand, I might think, “Wow Jesus really must think I can do this!” On the other side, I might think, “There is no way I can do all Jesus has done, why doesn’t He just do it?”
In Luke 10, we find the 72 disciples returning from being sent out by Jesus. There is no doubt of the stories that they must have been able to tell. I am sure at times they were overwhelmed and at times amazed.
The one verse that stood out to me today was verse 17. It says that they returned with a “joyful report” (NLT). What was their joy about. Was it the healings, was it those who began to follow? NO! It was that “even the demons obeyed” when they operated and spoke in Jesus Name.
Now, the truth is that Jesus guided them to see that true rejoicing should come at the more important issue- that their name was written in heaven. But there is a point I want you and I to grab today.
Even the demon obeyed. That means everything else did as well. You are not some random stranger going through life. You are a child of God. You have the POWER of the Son of God. We walk and serve at His guidance. you go in HIS name, not your own. Think of anything you come against and ask is it bigger than Jesus? Will it have to obey Jesus? There is nothing bigger and more powerful.
Take comfort today. Be encouraged! Receive the joy of the Lord as you know in Jesus name the mountains will move, the dead will rise, and the evil spirits will submit.
You are more than a conquer in Christ Jesus. Lift your head up and take courage today.
